Job Profile
This role is responsible for the strategic planning, workload and resource management, project coordination and impact assessment of all Configuration Management and PLM activities.
This role is based within the ‘Configuration Management and PLM’ team.
Responsible to: Engineering Infrastructure Manager
Liaison with: Enterprise-wide stakeholders
Duties:
* To establish and maintain efficient working practices to ensure a single point of truth for product, PLM and engineering department data.
* To strategise, plan, prioritise, and coordinate all Configuration Management and PLM activities across the enterprise to meet stakeholder objectives.
* To manage a dedicated team of various specialist disciplines for the effective implementation and maintenance of CM2 Configuration Management methodologies.
* To manage and coordinate Change Management, Configuration Management and Product Lifecycle Management sub-teams and consultant activities.
* To monitor and budget all Configuration Management and PLM activities.
* Responsible for PLM software licensing, including the review of subscription and maintenance agreements; purchase is at the discretion of the IT Manager and Development Director.
* To provide clear visibility of Configuration Management and PLM activities, their progress and their cost-benefit to Senior Management.
* To establish and maintain secure user access control permissions, digital rights management, and protocols to restrict access to sensitive information within any PLM systems.
* To establish and maintain shared Item and Dataset ownership amongst stakeholders, auditing, reporting, and correcting non-conformances as necessary to maintain optimum data quality.
* To own, maintain, and continuously improve Change Management processes and supporting systems for the creation and evolution of products, process and system data.
* To ensure unique identification, correct referencing, and traceability of all Items and Datasets.
* To establish, implement, and maintain all Product Configuration structures; potentially progressing to other essential Configuration structures.
* To work with the Quality Manager to establish and maintain process excellence.
* To work with the IT Manager to ensure supporting system configurations and software tools meet the needs of all stakeholders and their processes.
* To own and manage enterprise-wide configuration processes and standards; examples including ‘Product Naming Conventions’, ‘CAD Modelling practices’ and ‘Change Management’.
* To capture and retain knowledge within the business through robust documentation management and the organisation of internal and external training.
* To action improvement changes identified through the Quality Department annual audits.
* To continuously improve Configuration Management, conducting and reporting scheduled audits and corrective action in collaboration with Quality department.
* To establish and maintain Configuration Management CM2 awareness and training across the enterprise.
* To establish a standardised ‘Engineering definition’ Product Configuration, working with the ‘Production and Manufacturing Engineering Manager’ to ensure robust transition from EBoM to MBoM for all product configurations.
* To ensure requirements management standardisation, building on the CM2 ‘Clear, Concise and Valid’ principles; ensuring product requirements are managed throughout the product lifecycle.

Hours:
* 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday
