An experienced LAND BUYER / MANAGER is needed to identify and secure new residential development opportunities across Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and eastern parts of Oxfordshire. You will need strong experience in land buying, negitiating contracts and leading constultant teams in order to successfully develop opportunities and acquire land across the region.
The role involves:
* Identifying, evaluating and securing development opportunities which lead to the construction of new homes, including Section 106 deals, land/build packages, and/or other partnership arrangements.
* Creating and maintaining a network of contacts and working relationships with key stakeholders such as local authorities, local agents and land owners.
* Ensuring all new opportunities meet financial, quality and strategic objectives.
* Keeping accurate records which meet audit requirements and agreed timescales.
* Working with internal teams and external consultants to optimise the development potential of sites, maximise revenue potential and sustainability.
* Taking responsibility for monitoring expenditure and leading on due diligence so that revenue, cost, quality, and delivery programme assumptions are all as reliable as possible.
* Appraising sites to establish land value.
* Managing budgets and consultant teams.
* Engaging and leading architectural, planning and valuation consultants.
You will need:
* To be educated to Degree level or equivalent with a relevant professional qualification such as RICS, RIBA, or MRTPI.
* At least 4 years of experience in a Land Buying role with a proven track record of negotiating and closing deals.
* Experience and knowledge of the development and planning process.
* Good legal knowledge for acquisition contracts.
* Proven commercial acumen and experience of financial appraisal modelling.
* Experience and knowledge of different types of building contracts and of managing technical/ professional teams to carry out due diligence.
* Analytical thinking skills and excellent attention to detail.
* Ability to use your initiative and be self motivated.
* Excellent communication and negotiating skills.
* A full driving licence with access to a car.
