Head of Rental

Hours of Work: 8.45-17.00 Monday to Friday
Summary
A high profile, senior role within Scania (Great Britain) Limited reporting directly to the U.K. Sales Director and member of the Sales Leadership Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for one of the biggest truck rental fleets within the U.K. and will lead the organisations team members who are located across the United Kingdom.With a primary function of delivering an outstanding customer experience, the Head of Rental will work closely and alongside the wider Scania organisation in Services, New and Used Sales and the Dealer Network to ensure that the customer is at the centre of the Scania ecosystem.
Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities
Overall responsibility for SGB’s truck rental operation and its performance against Customer Satisfaction and its operational objectives’
Develop and expand the rental customer base with key focus on profitable growth, optimal customer share and fleet utilisation
Achieve the objectives set out in SGB’s Business Plan
Ensure the rental operation conforms to company policies and procedures, as well as government legislation and regulations
Develop the future growth of the rental fleet and execute a strategy that delivers the long-term plans set out by the organisation
Optimise communication with customers, staff, suppliers, and Dealers
Promote and work within the Scania Dealer Operating Standards (DOS) and ISO9001 to ensure uniform quality standards across the rental business
Ensure the rental operation operates within SGB credit control policy
Exploit all revenue and customer added-value opportunities
Work closely with the Head of Used Truck Sales to ensure that the fleet is always representative of the Brand whilst maximising market conditions supporting the overall sales drive
Liaise with After Sales Fleetcare function to manage R&M costs within contract parameters.
Candidate Requirements
Achieving Business Objectives – demonstrating the effort, willingness and ambition to achieve results and reach business objectives
Strategic Relationship Development – to identify the right business partners (internal & external) and establish alliances in order to achieve the business objectives and organisational goals.
Managing Business – maintaining and enhancing the success of the rental department in conjunction with SGB Business Plan
Strong negotiating skills
Experience / skills regarded as ideal but not essential
Particular experience/skills that will be regarded as ideal are:
Rental & Managerial experience preferably in the commercial vehicle industry
Knowledge of the commercial vehicle market and in particular both short and long term hire
A high level of analytical, innovation and business skills
