This role will be based at our headquarters in Marlow, Buckinghamshire.
Your skills and experience
The Systems Requirements Lead role has two main aspects, both focused around capability growth and project execution, namely to:
* Drive capability improvement across all projects in the area of requirements management.
* Support project execution by leading and managing the requirements for the allocated projects
The Requirements Lead will work closely with the systems leadership team to drive functional growth, while working across functions on projects to ensure requirements are managed in an effective and efficient way that serves the needs of the project teams.
The role may involve leading individuals on the projects in a functional capacity to ensure project needs are met.
As a Systems Requirements Lead your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
* A recognised technology based degree, supported by sufficient relevant experience to prove application of Systems Engineering principles across the product lifecycle, with specific expertise in Requirements Management
* A proven track record in leading Requirements Management activities in complex projects and driving process improvements across the engineering function
* Management of the IBM CLM
* Customisation of the IBM CLM using JavaScript
* Good technical knowledge of one or more of the following would be desirable: airborne radar, electronic warfare, surveillance, networking and communications systems
* Able to mentor and coach engineers, to increase knowledge of Requirements Management
* Proven experience in Systems Engineering within a safety critical industry, ideally with experience of ARP4754A
* Experience working in an environment where the team are located in different sites
* All applicants must have or be able to obtain Security Clearance
As a Systems Requirements Lead, your key responsibilities will include:
* Requirements management from Customer Technical Requirements through to successful execution and delivery
* Population and control of the requirements flow down using DOORS Next
* Act as focal point for co-ordinating and demonstrating means of compliance against all initial and updated customer technical requirements
* Coordinate with verification team to manage the verification activities within IBM’s Quality Manager
* Configuration management of the IBM CLM using Global Configurations
* Management of other data linked to requirements e.g. change control within CCM
* Interface with Commercial/PM regarding changes to technical requirements
* Focus on driving consistency across all projects for Requirements Management, aligning to industry best practice
* Generation of metrics to report the status of requirements maturity as the projects progress through development
* Support and preparation of artefacts to support Engineering Design Reviews
* Subject to allocated projects, lead a team of engineers to achieve requirement activities to cost and schedule
* Contribute to definition/development of Systems Engineering technical strategy
* Contribute to and lead customer meetings where appropriate
* Ensure the team are applying strict adherence to process for requirements management and ensure processes are continuously improved to meet the changing needs of the business
* Providing expert advice and guidance across the discipline, including guidance on requirement management techniques
* Identifying opportunities for productivity and cost improvements
* Protect the Intellectual Property Rights of the company
* Ensure effective knowledge management approaches are embedded
* Ensure effective lessons learned approaches are utilised, to capture information and ensure our processes are subject to continuous improvement
