Part Time Accounts Officer
Fixed Term Contract
Milton Keynes
£25 – £30k pro rata
Our client is looking for an experienced Accounts Officer to join their team in Milton Keynes. This role is part time (Monday to Friday 25-30 hours per week) covering maternity leave. It is expected to initially be for a 5 month period but may go on longer. The role will be reporting into the Finance Controller and is a varied role where the successful candidate will be involved with several areas of the finance function. You will be required to undertake training in the office but may then have the flexibility to work from home.
Key Responsibilities
Approval and processing of supplier invoices
Payment of supplier invoices in accordance with the agreed terms
Download and processing of invoices from some supplier portals
Receipting of inventory
Credit control
Issue resolution of invoices and statements
Processing of credit notes and contras, payments and receipts
Processing and allocation of receipts from bank, Paypal and credit card agency
Daily review of balances
Reconciliation of accounts
Set up of payments for management authorisation
Issuing of refund cheques for customer postage for signing
Issuing of reference numbers and credit notes for customer returns
Ad-hoc assistance to the Financial Controller – Europe
Processing of intercompany account transactions and reconciliation
Import of online store entries for sales, payments and allocate accordingly
Skills/competencies
Excel to intermediate level
Experienced (2yrs+) in similar role in accounts
Attention to detail
Organised and efficient
Good communicator – including asking for help if needed
Experience in SAP B1 or similar an advantage
Good book-keeping understanding
Excellent team-player essential!
