Warehouse Operative

Our client, a Buckingham based Industrial Technology company is looking for a trainee or experienced Warehouse Operative.

The warehouse staff co-operate with personnel at the head office in the performance of its warehousing and storage functions.

Candidates applying for this position should be numerate and enjoy a tidy, organised work environment. Hours: 8.30 – 5.30 (no weekends)

Warehouse Operative duties include:

Goods inwards:

Receiving deliveries, checking quantities vs documents and store parts in correct locations
Check for any damages, missing items
Unload delivery vehicles where required
Update stock control system

Goods outwards:

Pick and pack customer orders accurately to meet deadlines and to the correct specification
Dispatch orders with appropriate company paperwork
Load delivery vehicles where required

Stock Control: Regular stock takes. Keeping all paperwork up to date. Coordinate stock materials. Deal with any stock discrepancies.

Quality: Work with the Compliance Manager to ensure quality standards are maintained.

Manual tasks:

Manually pack boxes, wrap pallets and move stock around by pallet truck and by hand when required
Product testing and general warehouse duties as required
Perform any reasonable ad hoc request from management chain. Work efficiently and effectively as part of a small team
Keep warehouse and forecourt clean and tidy, whilst maintaining high levels of health and safety standards.

Warehouse Operative Essential Criteria:

Previous experience of working in a warehouse is desirable but not essential.
A Counterbalance Fork lift truck licence would be a benefit (otherwise training provided).
Attention to detail.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Adaptable and flexible in approach to work.
A good level of numeracy and literacy.
Good level of fitness.
Good manual handling practices and ability to work independently.
