About the Opportunity:
Due to company growth, my client is looking to expand their procurement team and are in the market for an Assistant Buyer with a minimum of 1 years buying experience. In this role your responsibilities will include procuring project materials within the budget and project timescale in addition to negotiating new supplier agreements. You will also be expected to raise purchase orders and highlight any design changes ensuring they are re-costed appropriately. While not getting stuck in to this, you will be liaising with project manager and designers when appropriate. You will need to have an understanding of end to end supplier management processes. You will need to show the ability to interpret a technical drawing, understand the requirements and then work with our supplier to source the required parts or materials.

Based in Bucks, Our client is a multi-disciplined Sub-Contractor specialising in, Façade systems, Dry Lining, Decorating, Tiling and Fire stopping who have built an outstanding industry reputation on delivering first class construction packages within various sectors of industry including, High End Residential, Commercial, Leisure, Educational and Healthcare. Throughout their 10 year establishment they’ve spearheaded the industry with dynamic approach and have built / maintained strong client relationships with some of the UK’s largest construction firms including Kier, Galliford Try, Multiplex and McLaren. They currently have an annual turnover of £20m and our clients’ prime focus is on packages ranging anything from £1m to £5m, working within London and Surrounding Counties.
About the role

* Ordering materials through our network of suppliers
* Uploading purchase orders onto SAGE
* Liaising with our site managers regarding delivery times/slots
* Keeping material price lists up to date
* Ordering and hiring of plant
* Checking adhoc invoices
* Arranging credits where required
* Liaising with our own delivery drivers
* Trying to get buying gains on tender rates
