About The Role
EKFB is a joint venture that brings together international, market leading expertise from four leading civil engineering and construction companies: Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial Construction and BAM Nuttall. All four partners have specialist expertise in the design, construction, operation, financing and maintenance of railway networks, including the construction of one of Europe’s latest high speed rail projects.
The successful candidate will:
Be a member of a small team of 6-8 people managing schedule cost and performance data, to provide a project controls service to one section of the C2/3 contracts.
Use 3D models and latest technology (training will be given) to derive CESMM4 Bills of Quantities for asset components. You will use estimating team standard rates to cost these items and assist in linking them to the contract schedule.
Prepare work packages for potential subcontracts, analyse and store tenders, and receive/challenge and agree cost forecasts from the supply chain.
Quality check 3D models.
Produce model-based Bills of Quantities from 3D models.
Use standard estimating build ups to cost the BoQs.
Check your output with senior commercial staff.
Link the BoQs to the contract schedule.
Set up and manage subcontract package data based on BoQs.
Receive and challenge cost forecasts from the supply chain.
Work with section leads and site agents to verify their costs to complete.
Maintain the EK smartCOST system.
About The Candidate
Some awareness of CESMM4 and how to measure civil engineering works
Good IT skills and adaptability
Sound interpersonal skills and ability to interact collaboratively with the supply chain and colleagues
Excel – high level of capability with advanced formulae
Graduate, with a numerate qualification
Sound IT skills in data manipulation
Previous experience of cost management systems helpful
Previous experience of construction helpful
