C# .NET DEVELOPER

PERMANENT ROLE £60,000+

PART TIME FROM HOME

2-3 DAYS PER WEEK IN CHESHAM OFFICE

The Role:

Capita are seeking an experienced C#/.NET Developer for our client. The client specialise in developing technology solutions and services for the biopharmaceutical manufacturing business, covering biologic products, facilities and strategy. 

The company is based in Chesham, Buckinghamshire, UK, with access to Central London via the Metropolitan Line. 

The products portfolio includes apps built on top of MS Excel using C# and VBA, web apps built using .NET framework with a SQL Server database, cross-platform apps in Xamarin.Forms, as well as additional tools such as a machine learning optimiser implemented in Python and Business Intelligence implemented on top of MS Azure.

They are now planning to build a brand new web API using the latest .NET Framework. This API will serve as the main interface for all our apps to pull data from a SQL database and will eventually replace the existing WCF service. We will also be upgrading our existing authentication strategy, from Membership to Identity and Windows Authenticator, as part of this project. Most of the SQL database is already implemented, however we need to rationalise, optimise and refactor it as well.

Key responsibilities:

·      Technical design and implementation of the .NET REST Web API

·      Design and implement Unit Tests

·      SQL database refactoring and development

·      Web API integration with all existing apps and tools

·      Develop existing apps and tools

·      Technical documentation

·      Research & Development of in-house tools and prototypes

·      Be involved with all steps of the product development lifecycle, from initial investigation and technical design through to UI reviews and implementation

·      Participate in mapping out testing and quality control automations

Essential skills: 

·      Computer Science degree

·      Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL

·      .NET Framework

·      C#

·      LINQ

·      Entity Framework

·      REST Web API

·      Good understanding of object oriented programming

·      Ability to work independently and multi-task efficiently

·      Excellent written English proficiency

Beneficial skills: 

·      Advanced Microsoft Excel

·      SQL Server Integration Services

·      SQL Server Analysis Services

·      ASP.NET Web Forms

·      WCF

·      Xamarin.Forms

·      Front-end technologies are a plus, however not expected in this role
