Our client is seeking an experienced and highly motivated maintenance engineer to be the field service support for a first to market telehandler product. Applicants should be multi – skilled mechanical/electrical biased engineer and be comfortable with some degree of customer facing responsibility.
The Field Service Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for the inspection, testing and repair of electrical and mechanical machinery and equipment used within our market leading range of equipment. In addition to our hire fleet, you will become the subject matter expert on our innovative Electric Telehandler range.

Key responsibilities: Diagnose and rectify faults. Identify parts or components required to make suitable repair. Visit sites to repair defects when necessary.
Inspect, test and certify safe to use all Electrical / Mechanical Plant in the fleet. Install and commission new machinery and equipment in accordance with agreed levels of responsibility and to manufacturer's specification and current legislation. Maintain a clean and safe working environment. Clear waste materials and leave all work places clean and tidy on completion of tasks.
Maintain a small ready to use store of spare parts in the service vehicle, advising the HOD of parts required. Attend training courses and meetings to keep up to date with company business activities to ensure compliance with statutory legislation. Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations and guidelines pertinent to the performance and delivery of the job. To maintain records for health & safety and customer service purposes. To maintain and improve health & safety in the workplace. All other workshop duties as deemed necessary
Experience, Knowledge & Skills: Field Service engineer experience. Be prepared to travel across the UK to attend customer breakdowns on site. Strong electrical and mechanical engineering experience. Engineering qualification
AC/DC motors and generators. Use of telematics for diagnostics. Electric portable tools. Wiring and distribution systems. Ability to fault find on controls and equipment. Petrol and diesel engines/generators. Pumps and hydraulics
Servicing of small and large machines. Able to read and interpret engineering diagrams and charts.
Understanding of health and safety requirements. Communication Skills. Administrative Skills. Problem Solving Ability. Resourceful with high attention to detail.
