1st / 2nd Line Support Engineer – Milton Keynes
The Company:
Focus Group Recruitment have the pleasure with working alongside well established IT MSP business. Our client are the UK leaders within the SME sector.
The Role
Due to planned growth and business requirements, we are now seeking another IT Support Engineer to complement their existing service desk team. You will be a Customer focused, well organised, enthusiastic individual who will provide support to external customers, assisting them with hardware and software problems. You will be troubleshooting, installing, maintaining, and supporting a wide range of IT systems, typically for up to 150 users.
The role requires the following attributes:
* To provide comprehensive 1st/2nd line technical support, answering support queries via telephone, email, remotely and customer facing onsite.
* Professional telephone conduct with proficient writing skills.
* Strong documentation skills.
* Maintain a high degree of customer focus for all support queries and to adhere to all service management principles.
* To take ownership and be proactive when supporting all Clients.
* To log and manage all incidents assigned to you in accordance with Service level agreements in the Call Logging systems.
* Support Clients in the use of Technical equipment by providing necessary training and advice.

* Office 365 and Microsoft Exchange knowledge
* Microsoft Operating systems
* Active Directory
* Server Admin exposure
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have 2-year Commercial years of experience as a Service Desk Engineer, ideally with Managed Services experience. This is a great opportunity for a 1st / 2nd Line Support Engineer to join a dynamic and forward-thinking team.
You will have solid knowledge of the following:
* You will be an experienced 1st line analyst with some second line experience looking to increase development within the team up to a strong second line analyst position, over time.
* With 3 or more year's commercial experience, with a proven track record of supporting multiple technologies from a 1st line up to a second line level.
* You will need to be flexible to the needs of the business and show dedication to the task in hand through to completion.
* Proficient in Microsoft Operating systems, including Desktop Windows O/S 7 – Windows 10, Some understandingexposure of Windows Server 2008 – 2012 R2 and Windows Server 2016 would be advantageous.
* Understanding of Networking Protocols and TCP/IP fundamentals.
* Microsoft Office 365 and SharePoint skills are also highly desirable. With knowledge on how to administer Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft Exchange and Office 365.
* This role requires a good level of experience in deploying and supporting Microsoft Office Suites as well as good Computer hardware troubleshooting and installation experience.
* PC setup, configuration and deployment on customer sites.
* Working knowledge of configuring Printers on laptops/desktops.
* Any ITIL, Microsoft, Cisco and Apple qualifications would be beneficial to your application.
The Location:

Salary: £22,000 – £24,000 + great benefits including, contributed pension scheme, 20 days + 8 days bank holidays
