Our highly established client, who specialises in various flooring products, is seeking a Buying Assistant to support current and future demand. You will be required to assist the Senior Project Co-ordinator and to cover their position whilst they are on annual leave. You must enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
Duties of the role will include:
• Acting as first point of contact by telephone, taking messages, distributing correctly
• Composing/understanding Operations and Maintenance Manuals for the finalisation of all completed projects
• Ensuring Purchase Orders are in a coherent order and, once completed, filed away under the correct project
• Being responsible for contacting suppliers and making sure all materials arrive as scheduled on site
• Building relationships with suppliers over email/telephone
• Assisting in negotiating rates with suppliers, including historical sales records and inventory stock, to obtain high quality products at the lowest possible price
• Maintaining running projects and material databases on Microsoft Excel
• On a daily basis composing emails stating the labourer’s job texts to the entire workforce, sending them out individually to each worker by text message.
• General photocopying/filing/scanning for the workforce
Special Requirements:
• Excellent organisational and communication skills across all levels
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
• Professional/confident/pleasant telephone manner with a smart appearance
• A self-starter, motivated, bright and enthusiastic
• Confident/proactive under pressure
• Educated to GCSE level or equivalent (preferred)
