This role is responsible for managing and mobilising the safe and efficient delivery of onsite and complex off-site main laying programme within the Milton Keynes Region.
This role will take the lead in meeting our CDM and Water Quality obligations and will lead the efficient delivery of mains construction. It will be the main point of contact for Developers and will ensure that their needs are always delivered. It will manage the operational teams delivering this programme of work.
Engage with the design team through pre site and pre comm meetings for new schemes to ensure principles of prevention are utilised
Ensure water quality / hygiene standards within POSWSH are achieved consistently
Produce necessary CDM documentation such as CCP's, Permits, Risk Assessments and Method Statements for each scheme
Be a designated Temporary Works Supervisor and Lift Supervisor and responsible for associated tasks
Supervision of site activities and execution of health and safety and quality audits
Ensure working methods and on-site behaviour are consistent
Identify and control environmental hazards to meet our target of zero pollution incidents
Promote near miss/hazard reporting and ensure issues raised are resolved and lessons learned are shared to embed a positive health and safety culture including zero harm and zero utility strikes
Deliver key health and safety messages through means of comm cells and toolbox talks
Ensure all team members our trained and competent for the task
A capacity to manage high performing teams, maintaining the highest level of health and safety compliance.
Engage with the design team through pre site and pre comm meetings for new schemes to ensure constructability and efficiency
Facilitate 'Project Rehearsals' prior to work commencing
Work with the planner to programme and coordinate the scheme delivery, Inc. Materials, Permitting, Traffic Management, main laying, reinstatement and commissioning
Liaise with third parties including local parish councils, business owners, landowners, other utilities and highway authorities
Produce, provide and brief scheme delivery pack to team on day one of all new schemes
Engage and coordinate specialist sub-contractors' activities e.g. Directional Drilling
Visit schemes in construction daily, resolving issues and maintain the inspection test plan and Manage reworks/defects
Complete the scheme sign off and prepare the health and safety file ready for hand over to networks
