This role will be based at our headquarters in Marlow, Buckinghamshire.
Your skills and experience
The successful applicant will develop and implement the operational and financial plans and strategies of the business in conjunction with the Vice President of Finance, liaise and collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders across our business units, work closely with business units to support their commercial activities, oversee management accounting, report and monitor all spending, and coordinate, develop and analyse annual plans, monthly results, weekly and monthly forecasts.
This role would suit a commercially orientated individual who is looking for an opportunity to work with an established team, take ownership of their function, develop their skills and knowledge and potentially progress their career as part of the Marlow succession plan.
Chelton would like to hear from candidates who are CIMA or ACCA qualified, self-starters that learn quickly, and who can use Excel spreadsheets proficiently. Previous experience of managing Finance Teams is also required. Training and development will be available and the company benefits from a supportive and values based culture led by the senior team.
As a Senior Finance Business Partner, your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to quickly distil and simplify information – providing data to “answer the exam question” thoroughly.
* Strong Microsoft Excel skills, proficient with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
* Process and results orientated.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to operate and influence at a senior level.
* A team player who has a positive and inclusive approach to dealing with issues.
* Proactive, enthusiastic, dynamic and energetic.
* A well organised person, with a professional approach and attitude.
* Constructively challenge and yet commit fully to a company decision once taken.
* CIMA or ACCA Qualified
As a Senior Finance Business Partner, your key responsibilities will include:
* Ownership of all Chelton Ltd Financial planning processes including the annual Business plan, 5yr plan and 3yr plan. Ownership of all corporate plan reporting schedules.
* Responsible for all quarterly and annual financial reports including Income Statements, Balance Sheets, Sales and Margin analysis. Working closely with site Financial Controllers/Accountants to ensure that all reporting is timely and accurate.
* Analyse and present comprehensive financial and non-financial information effectively to the Business Managers and senior staff, ensure that the implications to the Plan are fully understood. Provide support to Business Managers and senior staff with quarterly Business Unit meetings and Plan presentations.
* Produce metrics that comprehensively and concisely monitor key aspects of the business – sales, margins, direct material, direct labour, overheads, engineering resource, project accounting, working capital and cash flows. Metrics will compare actual results to Plan, forecasts and prior year.
* Compile monthly and quarterly Business Unit bookings, sales and EBITDA forecasts working closely with the Sales Team. Attend forecast update reviews.
* Participate in a wide variety of special and ad hoc projects as needed to support the business and/or the corporation.
* Continuously monitor Business Unit profitability and provide guidance that enables the teams to drive the profitable growth of the businesses.
* Contribute in a general business sense and provide commercial input as a finance resource supporting the management and their teams, challenging the status quo and ensuring the best use of and optimisation of resources. This will include financial modelling (scenario testing, best/worst) in order to support decision making.
* Monitor Foreign Exchange exposure and report the impact of this on the Business.
* Support as required on internal and external audits.
* Promote a culture of teamwork, co-operation and support with team members and across international cultures, within and outside of the business.
* Comply with Health and Safety and all relevant legal and company policies and procedures
