JOB VACANCY: PROJECT ENGINEER (LIGHTING CONTROL)
In 2004 the company was set up to unite a dedicated team of architectural and theatrical lighting professionals to offer customised, highly reliable and user-friendly lighting control solutions. As a professional lighting controls and systems integration company, our controls design through to system integrations, project management and delivery is completely independent.
With extensive experience in the design of architectural lighting control systems, incorporating both static and colour changing schemes have been employed by cruise ships, corporate headquarters, the retail sector, public spaces, places of worship and exterior lighting schemes, to list just a few of the market areas that Control Lighting are engaged in. The unique lighting control projects are based on well-established technology and sensitive application, which are hallmarks of our contribution to a variety of architectural, artistic interior and exterior lighting projects.

Due to the companies continued expansion and involvement with exciting new projects, they have a vacancy for a Project Engineer based at their Long Crendon office.
The Role
The candidate will be responsible for working with the projects team in delivering the lighting control solutions. Attending client sites to carry out system commissioning and programming as well as supporting system integration will be a key task, therefore all pre-site preparation work back at base must be completed in advance and under the guidance and management of the Projects Department.

Key Responsibilities
* Highly supportive role to the Projects Director in delivering technical solutions.
* Demonstrate the ability for project planning and assist with building lighting control systems according to wiring schematics.
* Be able to liaise with project site contractors/ electricians and discuss delivery of the project within specific timescales.
* Be able to carry out off-site preparation of the technical solution including pre-programming and formulation of relevant documentation, paying attention to detail.
* Be prepared to work with client requirements and where required, demonstrate the lighting control solution before final delivery.
* Provide lighting control drawings for site installation contractors.
* Prepare site documentation such as site attendance/ training forms/ site survey and service reports.
* Attend client projects to carry out on-site commissioning and programming of lighting control systems and carry out software programming tasks based on clients brief.
* Have the ability to write project specific technical operational manuals and carry out end user training as required.
Required Skills & Experience
* Positive ‘can do’ and friendly attitude to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
* Ability to keep and maintain good quality records and follow procedures.
* Enthusiastic, highly motivated, confident of taking on independently project responsibilities, being pro-active, have excellent communication skills and be a team player.
* Have experience of creative problem-solving to find solutions to technical challenges, as well as being thorough, accurate and highly organised.
* Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines.
* A self-starter who can work without constant supervision.
* Ability to multi-task and work on a number of projects at once.
* Ability to acquire, organise, interpret and evaluate information.
* Have some lighting and/or programming experience.
* Have some knowledge of the industry standard lighting control protocols.
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages including Excel and Word, some experience of using AutoCAD, Publisher and/or Visio would be advantageous but not essential.
* At least 2 years on site experience, especially in the electrical technical sector.
Other Requirements
* Travel to client/ projects sites (local, regional, national and international) will be required including attending meetings with clients/ contractors and carrying out on-site work, therefore candidates will need to have a full driving licence.
* Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK without visa restrictions.
* As our offices are based on the 1st floor of the building with no lift access, candidates are asked to notify us of any adjustments they may need in order to attend for interviews.
Hours of work: This is a full-time position working basic 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 09.00am – 5.30pm with a half hour unpaid lunch break. However, due to the nature of some client projects being in the retail sector, working hours will include evening and weekend work
