We are currently looking to recruit a part-time SEN Teacher to work in a very unique educational setting based in High Wycombe. Resilience, flexibility, a pragmatic approach and the desire for a new challenge are core requirements if you want to work as an SEN Teacher at this specialist Secondary PRU.

You will be provided with a comprehensive induction and ongoing training package, as well as a significant level of formal and informal supervision and support in order to undertake this role.

The school caters for young people, aged 11-19, with Specific Learning Difficulties and a range of behavioural challenges and is looking for a part-time SEN Teacher to join their team for three days per week.

The ideal SEN Teacher will be able to deliver the highest standard of teaching tailored to this High Wycombe school's bespoke curriculum. Whilst the students are of secondary age, their teaching requirements will vary greatly from EYFS through to more typical secondary levels. You will work together with the school's curriculum delivery team to achieve the best possible outcomes for a specific cohort of students.

The ideal SEN Teacher will:

Have a broad understanding of SEN, Early Years development and primary curriculum, which is essential.

Be reflective and committed to your own professional development. You will have good interpersonal and communication skills that will help to maintain the positive relationships with staff, parents and our wider school community.
Have the ability to develop therapeutic relationships with your new students. Your high expectations for all and determination to support students in achieving their potential is a given. You must have an understanding of formative assessment and be confident in using it to impact learning. These student's typical learning presentation is non-linear, therefore you will need to be adaptable, resilient and maintain enthusiasm throughout.
You will be driven by the schools practice and philosophy of Unconditional Positive Regard. Emotional and physical resilience to working with behaviours that challenge within a therapeutic learning environment is essential. You will have regular access to an external supervision process to support you in your role
