A long-established construction company that operates in and around Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Oxfordshire, and is looking to appoint a qualified and experienced Estimator / Quantity Surveyor on a full-time and permanent basis.

This is the perfect opportunity for someone who is ambitious and diligent to join our small team and they are looking for a person that fits their company's culture and ethos and will provide excellent service standards and maintain high client satisfaction. Projects typically range from extensions, refurbishments and bespoke new builds valuing from £5,000 to £1.5m

As the Estimator you will be working closely with the Directors of the business. Your key role will be managing the tendering and estimating process for renovation, refurbishment and new build projects across the domestic and commercial sectors.

Main Responsibilities/Duties include:

Dealing with sub-contractor enquiries
Preparing tenders estimates bids and PQQ submissions
Preparing BOQ’s from drawings without specifications.
Monitoring costs to ensure contract budgets are met
Preparing contract valuations for interim application payments including variations
Monthly reporting of contract accounts to the Directors
Preparing contract turnover and profit forecasts
Value Engineering About the Candidate:

Ideally qualified with a minimum of three years post qualification experience as an Estimator /QS within the construction industry.
The ability to work under their own initiative
Ability to produce tenders / create BOQ’s from drawings without specifications.
Displays the qualities of a team player
Good time management, communication and interpersonal skills
Conversant with JCT suite of Contracts
Flexibility to adapt to varied tasks
Full UK driving license
Fully conversant with Microsoft office programs
A professional manner and smart appearance
