The job
The company are looking for a Planning & Materials Officer to join their busy and friendly production team.
This is a hands-on role, where you will work between a busy production office and the factory floor, using your expertise to deliver best in class, flexible manufacturing performance in accordance with business objectives and strategic plans.
Reporting to the Planning & Materials Manager, you will carry out conversion of forward forecast into a weekly production plan, optimising crewing and machine utilisation with consideration to constraints such as engineering, plant hygiene, CIP, production trials, as well as line and material availability.
Key duties:
* Control inventory of raw and packaging materials within laid down minimum/maximum stock levels.
* Counting of raw material stock daily, completing investigations into any discrepancies, before approving on JDE.
* Liaising with suppliers on all issues relating to raw materials.
* Working with other manufacturing sites, optimising the group stock holding by supporting the management of raw materials and movement of stock.
* Providing and monitoring a timed delivery schedule for goods-in

Your experience
You will possess solid experience within production planning and stock control, most preferably within food manufacturing, FMCG or pharmaceutical – basically a role where you have previously dealt with a high number of SKU’s and multiple products.
High attention to detail is essential together with working knowledge of MRP and Microsoft Excel. Experience of SAP is advantageous as it is similar to the company system Oracle JDE.
As you will be working in a busy production office, you will therefore thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, where you will be duly rewarded for your dedication and enthusiasm.
Additional qualifications such as Food Hygiene, Food Safety, HACCP, Internal Auditor etc. are all advantageous.

The Planning & Materials Officer job is based in the Home Counties / East Midlands region and is paying £30,000 (£25,000 plus 20% shift allowance).
The company provides excellent benefits including 33 days annual leave (including bank holidays), flexible holiday scheme, pension scheme, life assurance, discounts and cashback for selected stores and restaurants, healthcare cash plan, flexible benefits and share schemes for eligible employees.
The shift pattern will be double days; Monday to Thursday 5.45 am – 2 pm and 1.45 pm – 10 pm, and Fridays (alternating) 5.45 am – 1 pm and 12.45 pm – 8 pm.
