Payroll & Finance Assistant – Home Based – If you have solid payroll and accounts clerical experience, a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, excellent inter-personal skills and are, or soon to be, available to undertake a 12 month, home based, contract…then I’d like to hear from you.
This prestigious, part government funded, Milton Keynes based organisation is embarking on a number of key projects and wishes to strengthen its team by appointing an experienced Payroll & Finance Assistant, on a 12 months fixed term contract basis, that will then support the businesses overall payroll and other accounting based activities.
Working closely with the Finance Manager and wider finance function you’ll provide valuable support and assistance with a number of payroll, management accounting and balance sheet based duties, along with ad-hoc projects as and when required.
Your duties will involve;
* Payroll processing
* Data gathering and maintenance
* Analysis and reconciliation
* Reporting
* Liaising with the outsourced payroll provider
* Being a point of contact for payroll related queries
* Payroll and headcount balance sheet reconciliations
* Supporting with the smooth running of the overall payroll function
* Providing support with the preparation of monthly management accounts
* Assisting with the improvement and enhancement of processes and procedures
* Other administrative and ad-hoc project when required.
You’ll be a Payroll & Finance Assistant that’s able to demonstrate excellent all-round communication skills, whether via telephone or video conference, along with strong self-motivation, enthusiasm and the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with the wider department, albeit remotely and based from home on a day to day basis. A good solid understanding of MS Office, particularly Excel is also essential.

On offer in return is a salary of circa £23,000 – £25,000 per annum, though negotiable subject to experience, and a range of benefits that include:

Please not that although this role will be home based from the outset, the company will ultimately be moving to a hybrid model of working, with a return to the office environment for part of the week in the future. In this respect you should ideally live within the Milton Keynes area and possess your own transport. 37.5 hours per week.
