Warehouse Operations Manager
An established, growing, leading provider of lighting products sold predominantly through its own websites are looking for an experienced Assistant Operations Manager (Warehouse). Their mission is to deliver the best quality products along with exceptional customer service.
The company has a range of over 15000 skus sourced from suppliers in the UK, Europe and Asia. The UK warehouse, based in Milton Keynes, now operates 7-days a week from 6am-10pm and delivers next day across the UK and EU using a number of different carriers.
The Role
After a sustained period of rapid growth, the company is now looking to recruit an experienced Assistant Operations Manager to specifically oversee and improve the warehouse operation. The successful candidate must have a proven experience in:
Strategically manage the warehouse in compliance with company’s policies and vision
Oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution and maintenance operations
Setup layout and ensure efficient space utilization
Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures
Adhere to all warehousing, handling and shipping legislation requirements
Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security
Manage stock control and reconcile with data storage system
Liaise with clients, suppliers and transport companies
Plan work rotas, assign tasks appropriately and appraise results
Recruit, select, orient, coach and motivate direct reports
Produce reports and statistics regularly
Relationships
Reporting Directly to the Operations Manager, the Assistant Operation’s Manager shall be responsible for all warehouse staff under the control of the Warehouse Manager, plus have an excellent working relationship with all departments within the business.
Special Requirements of the Job
The ideal candidate will be an experienced operations manager looking to exploit past achievements to revitalise and improve the warehouse operation, system and controls in this fast growing – growing business. The candidate will need to demonstrate they have the experience to work on their own initiative to achieve the goals set, as well as having the skills to develop a trained and motivated team to work alongside them and to mentor peers accordingly.
Training, Skills, Knowledge & Experience Required
Must be articulate with good inter-personal skills
Organised with the ability to prioritise workload
Good IT skills, with focus on MS Office
