We have a fantastic opportunity for a Nursery Manager to lead the team at our Bright Horizons Haddenham Day Nursery and Preschool when it opens its doors in September 2021!
The 91 place, brand new and purpose-built nursery will feature 6 beautiful, well-resourced rooms across 2 floors. The 4 ground floor rooms will have free flow access to the large nursery garden, and the 2 first floor rooms will have access to an external balcony area.
Situated at the Haddenham Airfield Development, just opposite the Haddenham and Thame Parkway Station, the nursery will form part of a local neighbourhood centre for the community, where you will be close to local amenities including a small supermarket next door! The nursery has great transport links via train and car, based 6 miles from Aylesbury and just 7 miles east of the M40 junction 7, and there is plenty of onsite parking.

Purpose of Role:
The Nursery Manager is the named suitable person in charge of the nursery and responsible for all operational and regulatory aspects, building a vision which is shared by the whole team. The role is a key leadership role in Bright Horizons UK, with responsibility for all aspects of managing a nursery in an identified site or geographical area.
This manager will effectively lead, inspire potential and engage their team to deliver exceptional care and education whilst articulating the attributes of the Bright Horizons brand, securing Bright Horizons as the provider of choice for families, corporate clients, and employees. The expectation is this will be delivered by being present throughout the day in the nursery rooms, engaging with staff and families whilst ensuring the expected levels of practice are consistently applied and fully embedded at every level. The role is fundamental in the delivery of the strategic priorities for all key areas of People, Quality and Growth, and should be delivered through leading and managing by example, role-modelling best practice and observation and assessment of standards and practice throughout the nursery.
The role works closely with the RD, EC specialist, HR, Finance and Marketing, to manage the execution of service delivery in line with regulatory, customer, client and employee expectations, and to develop staff teams that achieve consistent high-quality performance within the nursery.
The Nursery Manager has the overall responsibility for the day to day oversight of safeguarding, health and safety practices and child protection in the setting, and maintaining accurate and up to date systems and records at all times.
The Nursery Manager is directly responsible for the effective leadership of the nursery team, providing training, coaching and mentoring and implementing a robust performance management strategy to ensure service excellence for our current and prospective customers. This includes leading change internally and role modelling leadership behaviour in line our HEART principles, delivering or exceeding all key performance indicators and business results.
Working with the RD, Marketing, Finance and HR, the NM is responsible for managing and monitoring the commercial performance of the nursery and leading practice in nurseries to improve customer and employee engagement and retention, alongside effective staff deployment, whilst managing all costs in line with budget.
In addition, this role will work with the EC Specialists to drive continuous improvement and embed inspirational early years pedagogy of the highest standard, across nursery teams, and secure regulatory compliance with better than National Average inspection outcomes in the UK.
Essential Experience:
* A strong record of on-going training and/or professional qualifications since qualifying
* Proven experience of working in early years education settings with successful management leading to ‘Good or better’ regulatory inspection outcomes
* Demonstrable track record of driving leadership strength and development of successful ongoing performance management and impact measurements, in close partnership with HR
* Strong decision-maker, with the proven ability to support change; a secure understanding of the complex relationship between business/commerce and service excellence within regulated setting, with the ability to follow guidelines and work with others to achieve success
* Experience of developing high performing teams, with a successful record of accomplishment of supporting effective regulatory compliance, quality improvement, delivering high quality pedagogy, innovation and service excellence.
* Experience of proving support and leadership to a staff team to enable staff in fulfil their roles, responsibilities and legislation duty in relation to safeguarding children.
Experience Desirable:
* Experience of budget preparation, efficient staff deployment and rostering programmes, and managing commercial performance and reporting metrics
* Knowledge of Local Authority and Regulatory requirements and inspection processes across the UK
Qualifications
* Full and relevant level 3 qualification (essential)
* 12 hours paediatric first aid and first aid at work (essential)
* Relevant safeguarding/child protection training undertaken and a willingness to update training regularly (essential)
* Evidence of continuous professional development
* Undergraduate or Foundation Degree in Early Childhood Studies or other relevant subject (Desirable)
* EYPP/EYTT or QTS post graduate status (Desirable)
* Full, clean driving licence and flexibility to travel as necessary
