Applications Engineer

Milton Keynes Area based (UK Travel) £30,000 – £35,000 OTE £45,000 +

A market leader in their field who has been established since the 1970s. They have grown over the last several years supplying Sliding Head and CNC lathes across the world. They have a strong name in their market for reliability of their machines and the support given to them.

Job Profile

As the Application Engineer you will be field based working away from home in the week across the UK. You will be supporting clients with training and applications support on new and existing CNC machines. You will need to provide high standard of technical support to the pre-sales team with machine demonstrations. You will be working with internal teams, clients and dealers.

Duties

* Visit dealers and client sites across the UK to provide machine set-up support and training

* Support Sales Manager with dealer requests

* Support with prove-outs and manufacturing problems liaising directly with customers

* Machine demonstrations for dealers and customers

* Carry out installations

* Checking machines are installed correctly

* Test the function and operation of machines to ensure they are safe

* Provide dealers and customer with telephone support

* Attend training course to develop and build your machine and machining knowledge

Skills & Experience

* Track record of working with machinery in an applications role or similar

* Strong programming experience in G Codes

* Strong metal cutting knowledge, including available tooling and cutting processes

* Ability to plan the manufacturing processes for a finished component

* Ability to work on own initiative, as well as part of the team

* Time management skills
