A specialist Secondary PRU based in High Wycombe are currently looking to recruit a Senior Learning Mentor to their enthusiastic, caring and creative team.
Resilience, flexibility, a pragmatic approach and the desire for a new challenge are core requirements if you want to work as a Senior Learning Mentor at this school.
You will be provided with a comprehensive induction and ongoing training package, as well as a significant level of formal and informal supervision and support in order to undertake this role.
The school caters for young people, aged 11-19, with Specific Learning Difficulties and a range of behavioural challenges, operating under a therapeutic culture of Unconditional Positive Regard and positive behaviour support.
This Senior Learning Mentor's role is to primarily manage a team of Learning Mentors within the school to deliver the highest standard of practice. This management role will include such tasks as recruitment, induction, appraisal, training and mentoring. These tasks may be undertaken individually or as part of the Senior Leadership Team.
Additionally, the role requires the post holder to undertake aspects of the school development plan once all necessary training has been completed.
The Ideal Candidate will be:
An outstanding practitioner with experience of managing a small team within an educational or Unconditional Positive Regard setting is essential, along with the right aptitude.
Will be provided with a comprehensive training and induction package.
Will have an emotional and physical resilience to working with challenging behaviours within a challenging environment is essential.
Will have regular access to an external supervision process to support you in your role.
