Quality Manager, £60,000 to £70,000, Pension and Benefits
Melbreck technical is working with a world-leading designer and manufacturer of special-purpose machinery and equipment.
They have an exciting opening within their business for a Quality Manager to join one of their locations in Milton Keynes.
You will be responsible for managing, coaching and developing the quality team and continue to foster the right first time focused culture. This covers the complete supply chain from suppliers, through internal manufacture and their customers.
Quality Manager – Key Aspects
As a Quality Manager, it will be your responsibility to strategically and operationally develop, maintain and support the company’s quality management systems, including associated documentation, procedures, product & process quality standards, supplier quality assurance, equipment and facilities.
To lead structured standardised problem-solving in a team environment, using 8D methodology.
Implement and sustain Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
Close out facilitation of external / internal quality issues with robust structured factual investigations, root cause analysis, effective containment, and corrective action / prevention implementation.
Internal / External compliance with defined industry and business-related quality standards.
Be responsible for Supplier Quality Assurance auditing and development programs. Support development of quality standard specifications for Suppliers and coordinate, track and approve application of efficient root cause analysis and prevention techniques.
Oversee and lead the new product and part introduction process.
Quality Manager – Experience Requirements
Demonstrable experience, knowledge and understanding of fabrication, welding, machining, manufacturing, and general engineering practices.
Engineering or an equivalent level of qualification in a technical discipline, to level 5 or above.
Leadership experience, knowledge and skills in quality management within an Automotive, Manufacturing or Aerospace type engineering environment;
Excellent understanding of development techniques for parts and processes e.g.: Design Failure Mode Effect Analysis (DFMEA) and Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA).
Understanding of Six Sigma, preferably with a qualification.
Understanding of MRP, Manufacturing Systems and QM Modules.
