Network Healthcare is currently recruiting for specialist Child Support Workers to be based in the Buckinghamshire area supporting our Crisis Intervention service. A lot of our work is based in Aylesbury and surrounding areas such as High Wycombe and Beaconsfield. The role will be to work on a 1-1 or 2-1 basis with a child and provide support to them either within the family home or Foster placement and also out in the Community. At present we only require staff who are able to undertake day time shifts. These shifts could be anywhere between 7am-10pm (such as 7am-3pm, 4pm-10pm, 10am-4pm and more) Please note we will take into consideration staff availability.
All of our shifts are minimum five hours, but often longer than this. This is NOT homecare where you are travelling between locations, you will be expected to be with the same client for 5 hours or more.
As community support is required it is essential that any staff who apple hold a full driving licence, have access to their own car and are able to provide an MOT and hold or willing to obtain Business Insurance.
This type of work is hugely important for both the young person and family and we are often phoned in to support as the family are in “crisis”. This means it is absolutely essential that we have a reliable staff team who are able to fully commit to the role and available at short notice when required.
Each case we manage is unique and can vary greatly. We support young people from the age of 5 years old to 18 years old and they are often in care or subject to a Child Protection Plan.
Many of the young people we assist have behavioural issues and/or special needs such as Autism, Asperger’s and more.
Staff will be expected to act as a support to the child, befriending them and help guide them towards right decisions and encouraging positive choices. In addition to this, staff will be required to engage them into activities both inside and outside the family home. Inside the family home could entail playing board games or making cakes and outside the family home could be things such as going for walks, bowling, the cinema and more. This role will at times entail helping diffuse tense situations so knowing how to manage challenging behaviour is a must.
As we are an agency, our contracts for this role will be flexible hours and we are unable to guarantee hours at this time however can say that we do regularly receive referrals and we are in need of staff.
In order to be considered for this position we expect staff to:
* Have a minimum one year experience working specifically with Children and young people
* Have experience of working with challenging behaviour and be able to positively manage this
* Be confident in your approach to work and being able to engage young people
* Have a driving licence with access to own vehicle and business insurance
* Be able to fully commit to the role
* Be able to effectively communicate with young people
In return we are able to offer pay rates of £13-£15 per hour dependant on the young persons need, paid mileage of 45p per mile when travelling with a young person, full referrals and debriefing for each young person prior to you starting work with them, full PPE, regular contact with the office, paid holiday pay, weekly pay, pension scheme and more
