We are seeking an Interim Head of Supply Chain and Procurement for an initial 6-month period, that could well be further extended beyond this period.

Our client is a market-leading pan European engineering manufacturing and installation fit out-group with multiple sites based across the UK. Working as part of the exec team the Head of Supply Chain / Head of Procurement position is a senior level appointment, overseeing both the strategic and tactical management of a team of procurement professionals covering both direct and indirect spend, including subcontract labour, commodities and services.
Applicants are invited from a wide range of backgrounds, with preference towards those from a construction, commercial / industrial fit out, projects, or civils-based backgrounds.

We are seeking an individual who is capable of establishing and building strategic relationships with both existing and potential new suppliers. We require an individual who can provide demonstrable experience of leading teams, improving lead times, developing category spends, rebates, and overall costs downs where possible by rationalising the supply chain. An individual who can work with internal stakeholders to understand their challenges and gain their trust in delivering a suitable supply network.

The right individual will be a self-starter, who has operated within a senior level procurement capacity, accustomed to undertaking contract negotiations, a group category spend approach, and setting the basis for SLAs and key KPIs across their value stream/s.

Core Competencies Required for the Interim Head of Supply Chain / Head of Procurement Role
* Good knowledge of engineering and manufacturing, construction, fit out or engineering project led procurement, with experience of bought out services and commodity products, such as – steel, timber, fabricated parts, etc on a project basis
* Strong character with proven negotiation skills
* SAP knowledge and CIPS qualification would be an advantage, but not essential
* Maintaining a good balance between, new bid support, expediting /supplier management, and running cost down activities to satisfy all business needs
* Trained and experienced in external negotiations and stakeholder management
