Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a recognised leader in the telecommunications sector on the hire of a Town Planner for their office in Milton Keynes.

Our client has a strong and established acquisition and planning team that dates back to 1997, and is made up of MRICS & MRTPI professionals. You will join the team and work to find the right balance between cell planning requirements and the constraints of Town & Country Planning legislation. This will in turn ensure your customers select sites that achieve Planning consents quickly and efficiently.

Duties:

-Undertake site searches to identify possible replacement telephone boxes and suggest new improved positioning of street hubs taking into consideration telecommunications and advertising national and local plan policies;

-Submit pre-application correspondence to the LPA and then attend and present at site meetings with the LPA and client.

-Prepare and submit planning applications and advert applications.

-Prepare and submit planning appeals.

-Report directly to the client on the progress of sites.

-Manage your own sites and areas and assist with the graduate training and work programming.

In order to apply, you should hold/have:

-Formal qualification in Planning (Masters/Postgraduate/First Degree)

-Full membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute or eligible for full Chartered Membership

-Telecomms experience ideal, or an interest in the telecoms market

-Commercial awareness from working in the Private Sector

-Knowledge and experience of Town & Country Planning regulations

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills

-A full driving license
