To achieve this goal requires access to skills and infrastructure on a scale unprecedented before within the UK Space Technology Sector.
At the end of 2020 a significant step forward was taken with the opening of a new multi-million-pound Innovation Centre at Westcott in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire.
The Innovation Centre provides a world-leading hub and much needed space for businesses as they grow from designing concepts to prototyping and testing their technologies and services

The Role
As the General Manager- your role will be effectively running the Satellite Technology Innovation Centre at Westcott, in line with the Catapult's annual and five-ten year plans.
This includes its current form and shaping it for the planned growth at Westcott, including bringing infrastructure, businesses and investment to the Westcott site.
Duties include
Ensuring high quality operations and relationships with stakeholders.
An active business development role where the successful candidate will seek and nurture relationships that lead to opportunities at Westcott
To sustain and grow the nascent space ecosystem in Satellite Technology, Space Tech, Propulsion, 5G, IOT, Connectivity, AI, Robotics, Drone, Manufacturing, Health tech and Agri Tech markets
Strengthening existing relationships with industry, academia, regional and local government in support of our objective to grow the Westcott Space Cluster
Your background
As the General Manager, we will be looking for you to show us where you have;
A passionate interest in technology across one of these markets; Satellite Technology, Space Tech, Propulsion, 5G, IOT, Connectivity AI, Robotics, Drone, Manufacturing, Health tech OR Agri Tech
Strong Business Development/Pre Sales/Solutions experience where you anticipate, recognise and understand customer needs to shape design, promote or support the delivery of services that meet and even exceed customer expectations
Strong Relationship Management skills- you develop and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders easily – using relationships to shape prospects and opportunities for the future.
Strong Business Acumen – you are able to apply understanding of general business, accounting and financial concepts well to the issues faced in this organisation
Strong Technical Acumen – you have the ability to provide and support technical input in business development activities, you understand the customer need and translate into the right capability.
