Our client is a very established and highly successful distributor of automated machinery to the Uk's manufacturing sector. Due to their continued success Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for the position of Field Service Engineer.

We are seeking a mechanical engineer ideally apprentice trained who has hunger to learn and progress your career with a market leading OEM.

The successful candidate will be located within the Midlands region and you will operate as a home based field engineer responsible for maintenance and repair activities throughout the UK.

The Role:

Reporting to the service manager you will be responsible for effective delivery of professional mechanical maintenance, service and repair of CNC equipment including saws, edge banders, moulders, routing, cutting and milling machinery.

Duties will include but is not limited to the following;

Assist with the installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of machinery.
Provide reactive mechanical breakdown and repair work
Carryout fault find and repair work on pneumatics and hydraulics.
Deliver effective customer training regards machinery operation and basic maintenanceCandidate:

The successful candidate will be a mechanical engineer with at least 3 years machine maintenance experience ideally with knowledge and understanding of cnc machine tools.

You will be a time served or NVQ Level 3 trained mechanical engineer with good hydraulic and pneumatics knowledge.

Applicants with some 3-phase electrical skills and /or PLC experience preferred but not essential.

You will be happy to travel extensively throughout the UK and spend up to 3 to 4 nights away from home each week.
