Athona is currently recruiting for a Band 6 Social Worker to work in High Wycombe for an Ongoing full time role.

The post is starting ASAP on an ongoing LOCUM contract, asking for 37.5 hours a week Monday to Friday.Flexible working arrangements will be considered.

The service is based within an Acute mental health team dealing with older adults.

The role has been described as follows: – Carrying out social care and/or mental health assessments for older people with a variety of mental health needs in the community. A number of our patients have dementia and live alone but good communication and the ability to support carers and families is essential.

It is community based, so a car is essential, good IT skills are necessary for some assessments are done on teams or virtually. SW must have good knowledge of the care act and safeguarding. All staff must have experience of a broad range of mental health conditions and have the ability to care co-ordinate. There is an assessment and treatment function in the role.

To be accepted for this role, you must be Social Worker England registered.
