Shift Team Leader
Location – UK wide role (First project in Milton Keynes)
Start date – February 2021
Salary – £47,500 – £50,000 + competitive benefits package
Our Client is a major EPC in the UK Energy sector and they're putting together a Commissioning team of Engineers, Technicians and Shift Team Leader/Operators to work across all sites in the UK.
Shift Team Leader responsibilities:
Responsible on a shift-rota basis for the safe, operation and environmental performance of the plant.
Working closely with the Commissioning Engineers on a daily basis, to ensure that all commissioning activities are done within budget and on time.
Ensure the plant is fully functioning before site handover to the client.
Ensure the plant is dispatched in consultation with PPA/DNO to fulfil system operator and PPA arrangements.
Accountable for adopting and enacting role(s) within the site safety rules, including the isolation of Mechanical Plant and Electrical Apparatus and associated HV switching up to 33kV.
Provide overall supervision and development of the shift team, including managing individual and team performance to ensure safe generation and environmental performance of the site.
Responsible for delivery, using 'on-shift' resources, of the planned and first line maintenance, operational routines and testing requirements.
Maintain a shift core balance of trade disciplines, including known cover requirements of mechanical, electrical and C&I.
Reporting directly to the Commissioning Manager.
Implement the health, safety and environmental management policies and ensure adherence with and review/development of all site operations procedures and management instructions.
Responsible for monitoring plant performance, identifying and taking proactive measures to improve performance shortfalls.
Ensure all commissioning activities are recorded.QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Education
HND or degree educated within an Engineering discipline with a high level of practical thermal/process plant operational experience. (Qualifications below this may be acceptable if accompanied by suitable experience).
A good understanding of all HSE aspects is a fundamental requirement, with IOSH Managing safely a minimum but NEBOSH Certificate qualified a preferred requirementSkills & Experience
Knowledge and experience of Energy from Waste, permit and safety systems, electrical distribution, protection, switchgear and HV switching(33KV)
Knowledge and experience of steam turbines combustion systems, steam cycle chemistry, WTP, generators, flue gas emission abatement and overall plant performance monitoring.
Computer literate with Microsoft Office suite, Intra/Internet and MS project and ideally previous CMMS and Nisoft Eclipse experience.
Excellent verbal/written communication skills in English. Good interpersonal skills, self-motivated, flexible and committed attitude.
