One of our National manufacturers are recruiting a Supply Chain Manager, to be based at their Buckinghamshire site.
The Role
The company have a great reputation within their industry for quality products and service.
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager and managing a team of one other junior buyer and logistics co-coordinator, your role is to ensure effective planning, logistics, buying, inbound material demand and manage suppliers. You will work closely with production planning.
You will be negotiating on and ordering raw materials and you will ensure material arrives correctly from suppliers. You will have the strength of character to deal with mistakes with a favourable outcome to our client. You will read action messages and deal with them directly.
You will ensure that inventory value and physical stock is at the company set targets at all times.
The Candidate
A dynamic "hands on" and practically minded individual you are able to work in a high energy, fast moving environment, with excellent communication skills.
You will have a background and understanding of supply chain within a manufacturing environment. With a particular focus on buying, logistics and planning.
You may be a Senior Buyer or Senior Logistics Supervisor looking for your next step. Whatever your background, you will possess excellent negotiation skills to effectively deal with suppliers and logistics providers.
An excellent knowledge of MRP/ERP is a pre requisite. Having SIPS Level 4 would also be an advantage.
Excellent negotiation skills as essential for the procurement of raw materials and dealing with potential problems in the supply chain.
