We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 1 Day Drivers for our reputable client based in the Milton Keynes area to take on a role within in their transport department. This is a specialist, exciting role, perfect for any driver looking to develop their skills and not to be stuck in a ‘standard trunking’ job.
Main Duties
This is a day role with a set start time each morning. You will be responsible for delivering generators from their extensive fleet. You will be expected to drive a number of different vehicles ranging from 6 to 8 wheel rigid lorry-loaders equipped with and without drawbar trailers. For parts of this role, you will be responsible for pulling various trailers such as Fuel Tankers and 4×4’s so adaptability will be necessary for this position.
Other parts of the job will require delivering, collecting, loading and offloading generators to and from the customer sites. You will also be delivering fuel using a fuel tanker or 4×4 to customer sites, as a result you will be responsible for securing the load.

Required Skills
* HGV Class 1 licence (minimum 2 years’ experience)
* Experience with Drawbar, Tractor unit, Flatbed trailer, Fuel Tankers and Rigid Wagon
* Digital Tachograph and CPC Holder
* Flexible approach to work
Desirable Skills
* ADR Licence (At least Class 3, Tanks & Packages)
* Lorry Loader Licence (Hook) (ALLMI or RTITB preferred)
* CSCS Card Holder
For this role, some weeks you will need to be planned as ‘on-call’ instead of on a standard rota, you will be made aware of the weeks you are planned for this well in advance, but flexibility will be required.
