Appointed Person – Remote Overview

A UK leading construction company are looking to recruit an Appointed Person who will be responsible for the planning and safe excavation of lifting operations. This is a site based role, working at locations throughout Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire and Warwickshire.

The Appointed Person will be joining one of the leading businesses in its construction field, who have been established for over 30 years providing construction services to the Rail, Construction, Power station industry sectors. This outstanding construction business are looking to grow rapidly, due to the success of winning multiple complex projects recently. Appointed Person key skills / qualifications:

* Previous experience as an Appointed Person (Lifting Operations) in a groundworks or Rail or Construction industry

* CPCS Blue card Appointed Person (Lifting Operations);

* Full driving license

Appointed Person responsibilities:

* Produce detailed lift plans and associated Method Statements/Risk Assessments;

* Ongoing management and update of lift plans to reflect the changing nature of the project;

* Management of calculations as necessary to complete lift plans;

* Prepare drawings detailing the lifts, including slinging arrangements and lifting gear requirements;

* Identify the most appropriate lifting equipment for the operations: cranes, lifting tackle etc.;

* Brief the lift team on the plan and any other pertinent details;

* Assist with the lift supervisors with the preparation and upkeep of the lifting equipment (LOLER) register.
