Manufacturing engineer.
Near Aylesbury
£35000 – £40000pa
Role Purpose:
Responsible for the creation and maintenance of the production planning process. Plans and commits manufacturing processes on all customers’ accounts. Plan manufacturing processes, including raw materials, special process, machining plan, fixtures, AQP quality control process throughout the manufacturing route. Support shop floor process to ensure right first time. Communicates with all department and managements to ensure OTDIF is maintained. Provides technical support for continuous improvements of the planning processes and systems.
Responsibilities:
Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and workflows to identify areas that could benefit from changes and improvements
Apply working knowledge of product design and assembly to the manufacturing process
Create processes and procedures to help the company meet budgetary goals as well as performance quotas
Design and develop new products and product mock-ups alongside the creative team
Participate in brainstorming sessions and cross-departmental meetings to ensure collaborating and cohesion
Establish an effective and efficient work sequence
Devise new solutions to existing manufacturing problems
Develop standardised design criteria across all product lines.
Salary per annum £30-£40,000.00 per annum
Hours of work: Monday to Thursday 8.00am to 5:00pm
Fridays 8.00am to 3.30pm (41 hrs)
Probation: 3 months
Bonus: Performance related bonus OTIF targets
Holiday: Holiday 28 days including bank holidays.
Qualification & skills required for this position
Minimum 5 years’ experience in production or shop floor supervisions.
Must have a high level of practical experience
Ability to question, challenge and make decisions based on data and facts
Practical problem solving.
Comfortable working on Microsoft excel including pivot tables etc.
Able to read, understand and interpret engineering information.
Robust, technical approach to supplier & Staff management.
Effective communicator at all levels both verbal and written.
IT literate – Effective use of Microsoft Office software; Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
CAD Cam
3D modelling Edgecam and Hyper mill
ERP.
Be able to work on their own initiative.
Work as part of the senior management team to achieve business objectives
A positive “can do” attitude.
Hands on approach when required. Excellent communication and influencing skills
