Having the opportunity to cange another's life for the better is a gift. To do this everyday, what a life. Come and join us as a Support Worker and support adults with a learning disability to live a life that makes sense to them.
Outline
You will be working as a support worker at our supported living service in Shenley Church End where we have full time and part time hours available. This service supports four individuals, who all have a learning disability, autism and associated mental health conditions. We work to enable people to make positive choices in their lives and to be able to take increased control.
The people that live at the service have varied interests including football, video games, watching films, cooking, shopping, swimming and keeping active including walking and bike rides. The service is split into four separate flats where the tenants take responsibility to maintain their own accommodation; you will support the individuals in their day to day living needs and be required to support them in accessing the community and trips out. You will support and enable the tenants to do as much for themselves as they are able, which will include maintaining their home, budgeting, shopping, meal planning, cooking, support with medical appointments and making positive choices to maintain good mental health and well-being. You will need to be a highly motivated individual who is able to work on their own initiative but be part of a wider team.
You'll be required to work on a rota basis which will include days, evenings, weekends and bank holidays
About you

It is desirable for this role that you hold a full manual driving licence which allows you to drive in the UK, so you can drive the service vehicles, though this is not essential.
