Position Title: UK Test Manager
Reports To: Technical Manager
Main Purpose:
Our client, a successful; UK based consultancy focussing on Enterprise Asset Management has identified a need for a test manager to further develop the testing function within the organisation.
The successful candidate will have demonstrable knowledge of software and system testing practices within both Agile and Waterfall implementation methodologies and responsible for ensuring that effective testing practices are implemented successfully across all delivered projects.
Specific Responsibilities:
Contribute to, influence and manage the company’s testing policies and strategy.
Monitor and ensure compliance with these strategies across the business
Ensure the strategy and test procedures are implemented on internal and customer projects.
Mentor the consulting team in the process of effective impact assessment and selection of regression test collateral
Managing the continued professional development, qualifications and capabilities of a multi-country test team.
Estimation of testing effort and involvement during the sales and project planning processes to ensure that testing is accounted for appropriately.
To ensure customer satisfaction in the technical delivery components of projects and build good working relationships with customers.
To take a lead role during the definition and execution of test activities against defined requirements or a solution either internally or with customers.
To work either independently or to manage other consultants to deliver a testing program of work against defined business and functional requirements
Travel to and work at client sites, both in the UK and abroad.

Person Specification
Skills and Personal Qualities – Required:
Advanced ISTQB Certified, preferably at Test Manager level
Alignment to ISTQB programmes and certifications
Clear understanding of testing practices within software development and delivery programmes
Clear understanding of the challenges of Agile development testing, regression testing, defect management
Able to manage the priorities and daily work activity for yourself and a small team of other consultants.
Be organised, methodical and proactive.
Ability to verbally explain complex issues in clear, plain English.
Ability to produce clear and accurate written English.
Strong communication and inter-personal skills both internally and with customers.
Technical Specification development and documentation.
Unit and System Test execution differentiation.
Change, Release and Deployment Management. Ability to work flexibly to meet customer requirements.
Have experience managing automated functional test collateral Have experience managing Load Test and Performance Test collateral
Skills and Personal Qualities – Desired:
Good intellectual and analytical problem-solving ability.
Demonstrate good networking skills and be able to establish strong personal relationships both internally and
externally.
Consultants are expected to become an IBM Certified Maximo Deployment Professional or obtain some other equivalent level of technical certification
