Livestock Field Technician x2 required for a 12 month contract with a leading multinational client based in Milton Keynes.
The role
Our client is looking for two positive and enthusiastic people with solid agriculture experience who are keen to gain exposure to a commercial business environment
This role will provide the opportunity to build your skills and knowledge within the animal health industry, as well as providing valuable practical experience engaging with pig & poultry producers.
Responsibilities
• Supporting, advising and training of farmers on basic technical tasks related to animal health and productivity and the correct administration of products.
• Development and delivery of specialist farmer training activities, under the direction of the technical team.
• Support and extension of diagnostic & monitoring services.
• Development and maintenance of the farmer data base to facilitate quality communication to the producer audience.
• Supporting the field account management and technical team in response to customer requests for on-farm support.
Requirements
• Experience and practical knowledge of UK farming; specifically the pig & poultry sectors.
• Display a genuine interest in progressive livestock farming and related business activities.
• Ability to handle stock and demonstrate the ability to engage with farmers directly on their farms.
• Valid UK driving licence.
• Degree/equivalent qualification of relevance to the agricultural industry (preferable)
• Well organised with high personal standards and excellent administration and IT skills.
• A clear communicator in face-to-face interactions, phone and email, both to customers and colleagues
• Has the ability to be influence and persuade
