Senior Safety Engineer
Milton Keynes
£400 – £450 / day ltd (Inside IR35)
6 Month Contract +

The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Engineer to review compliance in accordance with Railways and Other Guided Transport Systems (Safety Regulations) 2006 (ROGS) and lead compilation of an application to the Office of Rail and Road (ORR) requesting consideration to assess and renew the Safety Authorisation for Network Rail's (Non-mainline) infrastructure (Rail Innovation Development Centre (RIDC), Melton Mowbray).

Scope of the Project:

*Review existing Safety Management System against current ROGS guidance and past RIDC assurance audits to;
*Identify possible gaps in compliance and;
*provide continuous improvement recommendations to close out possible noncompliance to;
*enable a compliant renewal application to be compiled and submitted to the ORR by March 2021

Key Skills and Experience Required:

*Knowledge of Railways and Other Guided Transport Systems (Safety Regulations) 2006 (ROGS)
*Experience in either developing or managing a ROGS compliant Safety Management System
*Experience in Railway Safety Assurance and Risk Evaluation methodologies such as Common Safety Method for Risk Evaluation (CSM-RA)
*Extensive Stakeholder Management skills
*Good communication skills and behaviours required to encourage and foster a collaborative, diverse and inclusive work environment
*Broad knowledge and understanding of a GB Railway System (Infrastructure assets and National Operation Rules)

Desirable Experience:

*Degree or equivalent in Engineering
*Practitioner / Facilitator in CSM-RA
*National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety
