IT 1st Line Support Officer

Salary £22,231Per Annum
Full time – 37 hours per week
Fixed Term Contract – 31 March 2019
The Vale of Aylesbury Housing Trust is a Buckinghamshire based housing association providing homes and services to local communities throughout the Vale of Aylesbury, we have around 7,200 homes. IT 1st Line Support Officer to help us achieve our vision and goals.
The Role:
This role has a business wide remit to assist the Systems Analyst in ensuring that the existing housing and data reporting systems are up-to date and meet the operational requirements of the business and to aid the business in the reporting, analysis and understanding of this data.
You will work very closely with the Systems Analyst to ensure that the main systems (including the QLx Housing System, Qlikview reporting and Docusign) are working as they should and that the business can extract appropriate and relevant information from these systems
Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities are as follows:
Answering initial contacts to the IT Service Desk, understanding and recording customer issues onto the help desk and talking staff through a series of actions, either face to face or over the telephone to help set up systems or resolve issues (First Tier support);
Assisting in the role out of hardware for users
Helping to keep the IT Asset Register up-to date
Assist in moves of IT equipment when required
Releasing prints for home working employees
Chase up users or suppliers for responses to outstanding service desk calls or to capture additional information to enable call resolution
Ensure the ICT Technical Officer or the Head of IT is notified of events which impact service delivery
To undertake specific tasks as delegated by the ICT Technical Officer or the Head of IT.
Required Skills and Experience:
Essential Skills and abilities:
-Able to demonstrate competency at providing IT Support
– Experience of working effectively with both individuals and groups of people
-Able to deal confidently with customers face to face and on the telephone
-Good IT Skills, particularly Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
-Well organised and able to prioritise and deliver results within deadlines
-Good record keeping skills
-Good clear communication skills, both verbally and in writing
-Able to work as part of a team and also unsupervised and under own initiative
