Our client is a well-established global organisation urgently seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.

As the Infrastructure Engineer, you will be part of the Infrastructure team responsible for providing BAU support, maintain and optimise key functional areas, specifically in Azure Cloud Services, Client Platform Technologies, Enterprise SAN Storage, Global Backup & Recovery Solutions, Microsoft Windows Server Estate, Virtualization and Data Centre Hosting. The role also involves scheduling direct activities to resolve escalated hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

* Ensure Corporate Standards are deployed and maintained, developing, implementing, and maintaining policies, procedures, and associated training plans

* Conduct research and make recommendations on products, services, protocols, and standards in support of all infrastructure procurement and development efforts

* Assist with the planning and deployment of infrastructure security measures

* Test performance and provide performance statistics and reports; develop strategies for maintaining key infrastructure services

* Practice IT asset management, including maintenance of component inventory and related documentation

* Responsible for Incident and Problem Management

* Carry out duties following internal policies and procedures in accordance with applicable laws, rules, regulations and governance

* Designs for capacity, resilience/recovery planning and implementation for infrastructure services

* Project management of technical/infrastructure projects: planning, scheduling, prioritising and monitoring

Key skills & experience required:

* Hands-on experience in large-scale 24/7 enterprise environments hosting hundreds of servers, complex networks and multiple locations

* MCSE – 3 Years working with enterprise MS products including Azure/o365

* Client Platform Services (RDS/CITRIX)

* Strong virtualisation skills – VMWare/Hyper V

* Strong Virtualisation Experience – VMware (6.5-7x) / Hyper-V (2016/19)

* Enterprise Backup & Recovery – Veritas NetBackup

* Client Platform Services – Citrix / RDS Support Experience

* Working knowledge of DAS, NAS & Enterprise SAN technologies

* Data Centre Cloud Hosting, CO-LO & FM (Azure / AWS)

* Microsoft Windows Server – Cluster / HA Replica / Core experience

* Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues

* Experience of AD Management, Group Policy, Sites and Services, AADconnect

* Strong understanding of P2V and V2V migration technologies

* Power Shell & Scripting

* Knowledge of base Microsoft Services (SQL, IIS, Domain Services, RDS, PKI)
