An engineering and manufacturing company are looking to recruit a Health, Safety & Environmental Manager to join the senior leadership team. You’ll be responsible for preparing health, safety and environmental strategies and ensuring these are adhered to. This person must be experienced in a foundry or heavy engineering & manufacturing industry.

Commutable from: Bicester, Milton Keynes, Bletchley, Towcester, Aylesbury, Oxford, Banbury, Northampton, Dunstable

Salary: £ 40,000 p.a. to £ 45,000 p.a. plus pension, holiday, parking and other benefits

The Role:

Responsibilities of a Health, Safety & Environmental Manager:

Outline safe operational procedures, which identify all relevant hazards and accuracy assess risks
Carry out risk assessments and advice on risk reduction including improvements to PPE
Liaise with all the relevant regulatory authorities
Make sure that knowledge is up to date according to new legislation and best practice
Lead regular HSE audits to check policies and procedures are being properly adhered to
Carry out HSE inductions for new employees and update new HSE procedures in line with current management systems
Investigate any incidents or accidents and maintain records, also being able to produce statistics/reports to prevent reoccurrences
Manage hazardous substances and the disposal of chemicals and assist with external audits

The Health, Safety & Environmental Manager:

Experience working in a foundry manufacturing environment, in supervisory or stand-alone position
Minim level 3 qualification in a recognisable health, safety and environmental subject
At least 3 years’ experience of manufacturing or heavy engineering environmental in a H&S role
Member of IOSH or IIRSM
