UK Biocentre have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join their team based in Milton Keynes.
Location: Milton Keynes
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 PER ANNUM
Hours: Monday to Friday – 35 hours per week
Project Manager – The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join UK Biocentre as a Project Manager. Reporting to the Business Development Director, you will be responsible for the full end to end cycle of various projects. As a Project Manager you will ensure that each project produces the required deliverables within the specified constraints of time, cost and to the pre-defined quality standards of UK Biocentre. You will provide outstanding customer service, liaise with members of the Sales and Operations teams to ensure efficient delivery of all projects.
In addition to the above, the individual will be tasked with an on-going portfolio of projects in accordance with the organisation’s overall objectives. The portfolio will include projects that will vary in nature, scale and complexity.
Project Manager – The Organization:
UK Biocentre (is a wholly owned trading subsidiary of UK Biobank and an established service provider in the field of biomedical research, offering researchers a centre of excellence to support all aspects of sample collection, processing, archiving and analysis in clinical studies.
UK Biocentre operates from a large-scale Biorepository facility in Milton Keynes with back-up facilities in Oxford. The Milton Keynes site represents a state-of-the-art facility for the processing, storage and analysis of biological samples. UK Biocentre operates to the ISO quality standard ISO-9001:2015.
Project Manager – You:
Essential
– Demonstrable project management experience including proven knowledge and experience of project planning, implementation and management
– Proven experience of recognised project management methodology
– Relevant degree level qualification
– Proven experience of working cross-functionally with other areas of the business in order to achieve the objectives of a project
– Able to work in a collaborative and facilitating style with colleagues, collaborators and suppliers on all levels
– Must be an excellent communicator both spoken and written
– Excellent IT skills and literacy
– Must have excellent organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks
– Sets and maintains high standards for self and others and actively monitor standards and takes necessary action to correct problems or issues
– Can work without appreciable day-to-day supervision and report on progress through both formal and informal channels
– Must be a team player who can motivate teams to deliver
– Demonstrable communication and influencing skills
– Strong client facing experience
– Experience of working in a business change project management environment
– Good understanding of Microsoft Office
Desirable
– Experience gained in a scientific or medical environment
– PhD or equivalent in biomedical field
– Knowledge of scientific based projects
– Knowledge and Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio, Change Control & Document Management experience
– Previous experience of working in line with the requirements of ISO9001:2015 and ISO27001:2013
