MDC Precision is based in Milton Keynes, the 20000sq ft facility is the European manufacturing arm of MDC Precision LLC (US based headquarters). MDC Precision are certified to ISO 9001:2015 and specialise in the design and manufacture of precision engineered vacuum and pressure vessels, components, systems and ancillary equipment.

Operating at the forefront of commercial science, MDC Precision products are used in the applied physical science departments of worldwide universities, national and multi-national research facilities as well as the materials and semiconductor research and development laboratories of telecommunications/electronics companies. MDC was formed in 1975 and has a global turnover >$80M p.a.

Due to growth, we have positions available for a welder fabricator. The role will consist almost exclusively of welding stainless steel’s, and aluminium on occasions in a clean environment. Successful candidates will ideally have:

* >5 years’ experience welding and fabrication work, using lathes and milling machines, working to close tolerances.

* Experience of purging

* Ideally having served an engineering apprenticeship.

* Ability to read engineering drawings and verify work using traditional inspection equipment

* Experience of welding and fabricating stainless steel.

* Experience in a low volume, light engineering manufacture in a high-tech industry with high proportion of “one off specials” & subcontract manufacture.

* A pragmatic, hands on approach and be a team player.

* A well organised, analytical mind with good problem-solving skills and a solid understanding of trigonometry.

* Good communication and interpersonal skills.

* The ability to take the initiative, taking a flexible approach and be able to work with minimal supervision.

* The ability to contribute by making recommendations to simplify and improve efficiency in business processes.

Hours available:

Basic – 8 – 5:30 Mon – Thurs 8 – 12 Fri

Shifts – 6 – 2 , 2 – 10 Rotating weekly.

Nights – 6 – 6 Mon – Thurs

Packages include:

Salaries from £13 – £16 per hour (role dependant)

Overtime at 1.5 times basic pay.
