Flexibility to provide support on the floor as a carer which may include personal care, assisting with meals and support to mobilise

1 long shift a week preferable 9am-8pm. Usual hours 9am-4pm

Alternate weekends required to work

Description:

Collaborating with home manager to schedule activities as needed

Monitoring and recording what activities are taking place and when

Coordinating residents’ activities and encouraging their participation

Ensuring privacy and dignity of residents are always maintained

Reporting to manager, overseeing volunteers or other visitors to the home during activities

Work on programming activities, events and outings. Creating, planning, organising and implementing.

Ensure all required staff, materials and room are available for all activities

All promotional materials are developed and distributed in advance of the programs.

Materials and supplies must be managed in a cost effective way.

Successful candidate must have a passion for working with and assisting elderly persons as well as strong organisational skills. Positive attitudes and an enthusiasm for the job are important.

Excellent communication skills are required and the ability to exercise judgement
