Cobham Aerospace Connectivity are looking for a Senior Safety Engineer. This role is responsible for delivering the safety management activities for the business based within the Office of Airworthiness.

This role is based at our offices in Marlow, Buckinghamshire.

As a Senior Safety Engineer your key responsibilities and duties will include:

Assist the Head of Safety to shape and implement Cobham policies and procedures for product safety

*

Assist the Head of Safety to develop, implement and monitor the EASA & MAA SMS requirements and compliance

*

Provide advice on product safety matters to project teams ensuring safety considerations are correctly defined, implemented and maintained in accordance with regulatory requirements

*

Be a representative for safety requirement inputs at customer and internal design reviews.

*

Approve safety documentation

*

Actively encourage proactive safety reporting and Just Culture

*

Assist the Head of Safety to develop, facilitate and implement safety management training requirements across the organisation

*

Be a champion of change and build confidence in a proactive, consistent risk management approach related to all safety activities

As a Senior Safety Engineer your key skills and qualifications should ideally include:

*

Engineering degree in relevant discipline

*

3+ years of aviation safety experience in a relevant organisation

*

Extensive experience in aviation safety

*

Demonstrably SQEP for aviation safety

*

Recent experience of writing safety assessments

*

Knowledge of aircraft airframe, electrical, electronic, software and mechanical systems

*

Experience of MAA (DAOS) obligations

*

Fully conversant with MIL-STD-882, DEF-STAN 00-56 and SAE ARP 4761 safety management standards/procedures and the methods covered therein, i.e. FHA, CCA, FTA, FMEA, etc.

*

Excellent decision making and problem solving skills

*

Demonstrated technical report writing skills

*

Ability to demonstrate initiative and work autonomously
