UK Parking Control have an exciting opportunity for a Management Accountant to join their team based in Wooburn Green, Buckinghamshire.
Job Title: Management Accountant
Location: Wooburn Green, Buckinghamshire
Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 depending on experience
Hours of work: Monday – Friday 9am – 5.30pm (37.5 hours per week)
The main responsibility of this role is assisting the Chief Financial Officer with all day to day accountancy tasks, up to and including the preparation of the trial balance and management accounts. In addition there will be Budget creation, and Data Analyst work to review department performance against Budget and to provide the Senior Management Team with the financial data required.
Management Accountant – Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable and Receivable
– Manage the preparation of journals including prepayments and accruals
– Manage the preparation of trial balance and management accounts to monthly deadlines
– Manage the processing of weekly BACS payment run to pay suppliers
– Manage Commission calculations to be prepared for clients
– Manage Pay and Display calculations to advise clients of the income levels and payments due
– Manage the generating and entering of supplier invoices onto SAGE 50 Accounts and dealing with and resolving queries
– Manage the reconciling of supplier statements and managing queries
– Manage the raising of invoices and quotations
– Managing all areas of credit control
– Matching delivery notes to purchase invoices; and checking for correct quantities and values
– Managing the processing expenses claims
– Manage the posting of bank transactions and completing bank reconciliations
– Managing deduction of earning payments
– Budget creation and monthly variance reporting by Department to be completed to a strict timetable
– Managing supplier queries via the telephone and email
– Various filing, record keeping and archiving
Data Analysis
– Provide monthly Board Pack to include P&L, Balance Sheet and Departmental performance against Budget
– Project work to drive improvements into the Accounts Department in terms of process, and also in terms of systems (briefing the IT department and delivering improved systems)
– Departmental Management Accounts reporting, and analysis as required
– Manage the development and implementation of Purchase Order systems and other controls to improve the business

Experience, Knowledge & Skills
– Previous experience working to Trial Balance and the preparation of Management Accounts
– Previous experience of Departmental Budgeting is preferred
– Previous experience of Sage Accounts is preferred
– A strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the ability to create and develop advanced spreadsheets
– This position would suit a part qualified/qualified Accountant
