Health and Safety Advisor

Overview – (Health and Safety Advisor)

My client is a market leading manufacturer within the Aerospace industry. They are currently recruiting for a Health and Safety Advisor to work within their test department

The purpose of this role is to provide professional advice on the implementation of and improvement in health & safety performance to the test department and leadership team, to develop pragmatic solutions and direction for compliance in line with business requirements, to promote a positive health and safety culture throughout the department, and undertake auditing, training, risk assessments and management systems assessment.

Responsibilities – (Health and Safety Advisor)

* Provide authoritative advice on an ad hoc basis and as part of formal systems and structures, such as change control, departmental safety committees, work planning (both test activity and contracted facility led work) and risk assessment

* Manage the provision of safety support and advisory services to the department, including the sourcing of specialist advice where required.

* Provide advice on implementation of systems, such as incident investigations, auditing, emergency planning, safety training.

* Deliver instruction and training in health, safety and related subjects, and facilitate safety improvement and problem resolution with groups and individuals

* Generate safety reports, incident and investigation reports.

Experience required – (Health and Safety Advisor)

* Proven health, safety experience, used to create pragmatic solutions in a range of environments

* Level 6 of the qualifications and credit framework for England, or equivalent national standard, per IOSH Setting the standards for health and safety advice guide

* Practical experience in a H&S advisory position
