Madisons Recruitment are actively recruiting for an Operations Manager, for a key client of ours based in Olney. Our client has been a well established company for over 30 years, specialising in the Heating & Gas industry.
Role Purpose:
* Manage a team of Domestic and commercial gas and heating engineers (both direct labour and sub-contract labour) within the Installation and Commercial team, ensuring that the team work safely and optimally to provide excellence in customer service.
Main Responsibilities:
* Ensure all duties are carried out in a safe manner and in accordance with Company Health and Safety policies and processes on a personal basis but also responsible for driving safe operations throughout the team.
* Accountable for managing the profit and loss within the install and commercial departments working with finance to ensure efficient and timely invoicing
* Develop and maintain good working relationships with all customers
* Search out and take advantage of new business opportunities within the division to support future growth including at times new business tenders and providing quotations for chargeable works
* Accountable for understanding contract specifications and ensuring compliance.
* Accountable for allocating resources and planning works
* Accountable for the resolution of day to day site problems and attendance at site meetings.
* Accountable for managing resources within the team, providing coaching, training and development opportunities and raising/managing any performance management issues in line with company policies and procedures.
* Accountable for maintaining effective liaison externally with tenants and clients, but also internally within the Repairs and Maintenance team a professional, customer focussed manner is maintained
* Provide support and cover for other colleagues as may be required from time to time.
* Carry out routine post quality control checks on installations
* Carry out any additional duties which may be required from time to time in support of the business.
Person Specification & Qualifications
* Strong team player who is able to work in partnership with other agencies
* Ability to prioritise workload whilst maintaining customer focus
* Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external colleagues and customers.
* Ability to make effective decisions based on objective assessment of situations.
* Strong supervisory and sub-contractor management skills
* Ability to respond to changing priorities in order to meet deadlines
* Ability to make effective decisions in a timely manner
* Ability to challenge the status quo and recommend improvements in work processes
* Experience of working within Local Authority and Housing Associations would be advantageous.
* Must hold a valid driving Licence
* Must be flexible to work outside of normal office hours as required
* Have a good knowledge of Domestic gas instillations, previous history in domestic appliance installation would be beneficial
* Up to date ACS qualifications with a minimum of CCN1 & CENWAT1
* An up to date HWSS qualification would be beneficial but not a necessity
* Commercial gas experience would be beneficial but not a necessity
