Service Charge Manager
£50,000 per annum Plus excellent benefits
High Wycombe / Beaconsfield area
Full Time (37 hours p/w Mon-Fri )
As the key representative and ambassador for our clients Service Charges, you will effectively manage key stakeholder relationships internally and externally. Working within the Finance directorate of around 50 people, you will manage a small team, be part of the Finance management cohort and will contribute to the strategic direction of the function.
Within this senior position you will provide an expert advisory service to both service owners and budget holders, ensuring Value for Money for customers whilst maximising service charge cost recovery for the Group. You will have an eye for detail and instil the need to monitor and analyse to your team as compliance within relevant legislation is imperative.
Planning and organising resources for the Finance and Service Charge calendar is vital as there are challenging deadlines. You will be expected to measure and analyse existing systems and processes, developing creative solutions to improve services for their tenures and customers. Your excellent customer focus, commercial acumen and adept communication skills with a range of different people, including key stakeholders will be key to your success in this post.
Leading and supporting your direct reports you will set appropriate targets to stretch and develop their skills manage performance, identify and act upon training needs.
With proven experience from within a service charge management position, you will have strong leasehold and housing legislation knowledge along with a good understanding of accounting procedures and processes. You will be confident at dealing with challenges and will ensure you use data to back up your view/plan of action where appropriate and always work for the best outcome for the business and their customers even if this might involve conflict.
Project-managing the delivery of service charge budgets, you will have proven project management skills as well an advanced and specialist knowledge of Excel and be comfortable using complex data and systems (ours is bespoke).
The business has already embarked upon a transformation project and you will take a lead role in the Service Charge element, so you will need some previous experience in this area. You will be office based in Wooburn, Green, High Wycombe however you should have the ability to work from home (a configured laptop will be provided for this purpose) as they are currently accessing the office on a rota basis during the Covid 19 restrictions. Free parking onsite and located less than five minutes’ drive from junction 3 of the M40.
